Orthotics

Orthoses have been clinically proven in Australia and around the world in treating many musculoskeletal conditions of the lower limb and the foot.

Bunions.

Bunions are avoidable and can be managed with the correct intervention. Our Podiatry team can assess bunion formation using advanced video measurements and X-rays.

Ankle.

Achilles tendinopathy, sprains, osteoarthritis, synovitis and tibialis posterior dysfunction are some of the more common ankle conditions that we can assist with.

Let's answer some questions.

Why should I see a Podiatrist?

Podiatrists at Core Podiatry are specialists in the diagnostic and management of foot and ankle pathologies. We treat people of all ages and can accurately prescribe footwear and foot orthoses with our specialty computer gait analysis equipment and scanning technology. We are a well established clinic on the Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland regions for over 20 years with strong affiliations with local sporting groups and communities.

Can I get rebates?

Yes, if you qualify for an Enhanced Care Plan from your general practitioner or if you have private health insurance. Private health funds can cover podiatry but it will depend on your level of cover as to whether you are eligible to claim for these services. You will need to contact your health fund to find out about your personal entitlements to podiatry fees. Our HICAPS facility allows us to directly claim from your private health fund at the time of your treatment.

How much does it cost?

Please contact your nearest Core Podiatry Group clinic for more information. Podiatry consultation costs depend on the service required and if you have any pensioner concessions. We accept Enhanced Primary Care Plans at all clinics however we require an upfront payment for the service and a rebate of a minimum of $56.00 is then forwarded to your nominated bank account.

Do I need a GP referral?

Not generally, however we do accept eligible Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) or Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) referrals from your specialist or GP.  If you are attending under a Workcover or TAC claim you will need a referral from your GP for the initial consultation.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Footwear is an important part of the consultation so please ensure you bring several pairs of casual, work or sporting footwear to your appointment along with any insoles or foot orthoses that you wear or have worn in the past.
